Endowed Professorship (W3)
in the field of
Power Electronic Devices

In collaboration with the sponsor Nexperia, we are looking for a candidate to represent the field of power electronic devices with a high level of commitment to research and teaching at TUHH. The future holder of this position must be able to scientifically work on and significantly advance this research area. We expect evidence demonstrating excellent contributions to fundamental research as well as applied engineering science with a strong interest in combining technical expertise with interdisciplinary work.
One or more of the following key activities are particularly welcome:
Fundamentals of device physics with special focus on wide-bandgap semiconductors and silicon
Architecture and design of high-power density and high-efficiency power devices
Multi-domain modelling of power semiconductor devices
Device characteristics under extreme conditions and corresponding novel device concepts
Processing, prototyping and characterisation of devices in wide-bandgap semiconductor and silicon
Novel materials for power devices: Material processing, characterisation, electromagnetic and thermal modelling
Reliability physics of power semiconductor devices, related modeling and novel concepts
The professorship (W3) includes the lead of the future Institute of Power Electronic Devices at TUHH.
The successful candidate is expected to offer courses, including fundamentals, in electrical engineering and related degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level and to engage in further development of the curricula offered by TUHH. The ability to teach undergraduate courses in German is required.
This professorship is due to commence as soon as possible.
